A CSA reflects an innovative and resourceful strategy to connect local farmers and producers with local consumers; develop a regional food supply and strong local economy; maintain a sense of community; encourage land stewardship; and honor the knowledge and experience of growers and producers working with small to medium farms and food producers.
A CSA is a partnership of mutual commitment between a farm and a community of supporters that provides a direct link between the production and consumption of food. Supporters cover a farm's operating costs by purchasing a share of the farms harvest. CSA members make a commitment to support the farm throughout the year, and assume the costs, risks and bounty of growing food along with the farmer or grower.
Members help pay for product production costs, seeds, fertilizer, water, equipment maintenance, labor, etc. In return, the farm provides, to the best of its ability, a healthy supply of seasonal fresh produce or goods throughout the growing season.
Becoming a member creates a responsible relationship between people and the food they eat, the land on which it is grown and those who grow it. This mutually supportive relationship between local farmers, growers and community members helps create an economically stable farm operation in which members are assured the highest quality produce at a fair price.
In return, farmers and growers are guaranteed a reliable market for a diverse and seasonal selection of crops and food goods.
We’ve put our own spin on this by making it “customizable”. We know that sometimes folks get items they might not want... We have made it to where you can switch items out each week for things you know you will eat.
However, if you haven’t had an item before always give it a try... : )
Think of the breakdown for each investment as a weekly grocery bag of $25. Feel free to add more items each week as well!
HOW IT WORKS:
1. You sign up below! (Even for as little as a month to give it a try)
2. We email you (through our weekly newsletter) each Friday with a list of veggies we have put together. We also send a separate list of items you can switch out for. DON’T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE TO THE NEWSLETTER!
3. We deliver to you! TUESDAY is delivery day! We deliver to Abbeville County, Greenwood County, Laurens County, Greenville County, Pickens County, & Anderson County. If you have any questions to see if you’re on our route email us at email@example.com .
